EV Charging Station Installation

Fast Level 2 home and commercial EV charger installations in Oregon. We install dedicated 240V circuits for Tesla, Ford, Rivian, and all electric vehicles.

WHAT WE DO

Charging your electric vehicle with a standard 120-volt wall outlet can take days. Empyre Electric installs dedicated 240-volt Level 2 home charging stations so you can fully charge overnight in just a few hours.

We evaluate your electrical panel, pull the required permits, run heavy-duty copper conduit, and install hardwired or plug-in EV chargers. All installations are safe, clean, and inspected.

COMMON ISSUES WE RESOLVE

Standard 120V Outlet Charges Too Slowly (Only 3-4 Miles Per Hour)

A 240V Level 2 charger adds 30 to 45 miles of range per hour, giving you a full battery every morning.

Electrical Panel Is Full or Undersized

We perform an official load calculation and can upgrade your panel to 200 amps or install a smart energy management switch.

Melting Cheap 14-50 Outlets Under Constant Heavy Loads

We install heavy-duty industrial-grade receptacles and properly torqued copper wiring designed for continuous 8+ hour charging.

Detached Garage Without 240V Power

We trench underground conduit and install a subpanel in your detached garage for fast EV charging.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How fast will a Level 2 charger charge my electric car?+

A Level 2 charger (240V / 40A–50A) typically charges an EV from empty to full in 4 to 8 hours (around 30–45 miles of range per hour).

Should I hardwire my charger or use a NEMA 14-50 plug?+

Hardwiring allows faster charging (up to 48–60 amps) and eliminates the need for an extra plug connection. A NEMA 14-50 outlet allows you to easily unplug and take the charger with you.

Does my home need a 200-amp panel to install an EV charger?+

In most cases, homes with a 200-amp panel have plenty of capacity. If you have a 100-amp panel, we will calculate your total load and let you know if a panel upgrade or load shed device is required.

Are there utility rebates for installing an EV charger in Oregon?+

Yes. Both PGE and Pacific Power offer cash rebates for installing qualified Level 2 smart chargers. We provide all the invoices and documentation you need to claim your rebate.
